Economic development
Economic development focuses and talks about the quality of life in a place, region, or even community. If someone says that there is economic development in an area, that means that the quality of life is improving in that particular area and the people living are beginning to have improved life in terms of economic growth, infrastructure, etc. Various small indicators help analyse the level and amount of growth to an extent.
Types of economic development
The below mentioned various types of economic development help to understand if there is economic development happening or not and if there is a positive change that can be seen around. These can also be called as indicators which help to view the situation in a better way.
- Infrastructure
Economic growth always primarily affects infrastructure. Better roads are constructed, transportation gets better, communication becomes easier and people can move around with more ease and comfort than they did before.
- Education
The education system is part of economic development as well. The curriculum gets revised and the children are provided with a better and improved education system in which they have increased chances of success than they did before. They can score more scholarships as well. Along with providing knowledge to the students, skills are also taught to them to ensure that they can find jobs for them instantly based on their skill sets and get better.
- Health and Hospitals
The condition of the hospitals improves and they become better than they are before. There is an improvement in the healthcare system as well in terms of availability of medicines, the presence of doctors, and the fact the hospitals began to offer more facilities than they did before. The services that they provide are clean and hygienic and the percentage of people that are sick reduces. The percentage of healthy people however increases and so does the life expectancy of people living in the area, whether they are elders, infants, or even adults. There is a decrease in the death rate altogether. Medicines of good quality and in good quantity are also available without showing any signs of shortages.
- Justice System
Similarly, like the above-mentioned indicators, the justice system also becomes more strong and powerful where the number of cases begins to get quick decisions, people begin to believe in the justice system and instead of deciding their matters themselves, they prefer taking it to court for a just and honest decision.
